Kolkata, Sept 20 (IBNS): At least one person was killed and four others were injured on Tuesday when a public bus hit an over-speeding autorickshaw in Kolkata's Salt Lake area, reports said.

According to reports, a Karunamoyee to Ultadanga bound auto was hit by a public bus (215-A route) near Salt Lake City Centre in the morning.

Auto's driver and four passengers were seriously injured in the mishap and rushed to a nearby sub-divisional hospital, where the auto driver was declared brought dead.

Neither the public bus nor the driver-conductor of the vehicle have been detained so far.

Earlier on Friday (Sept 16), a college student was killed and four others were injured when a speeding auto violated traffic signal and crashed into a public bus near Gauribari crossing in north Kolkata.
