New Delhi: Khalistan supporter and Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh, who was arrested by Punjab Police two months ago, suffers from schizophrenia, a mental disorder that affects one's interpretation of reality, India Today reported citing sources.

Sources also revealed that he has a rigid personality and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), said the report.

Amritpal Singh has been taking Fludac Tablet, which is commonly used for treating depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorders, and other ailments.

During his interrogation, Amritpal Singh remained mostly tight-lipped and showed a firm belief in his separatist ideology.

Investigators are focusing on tracing the money trail associated with the separatist leader but have not yet established any link to Pakistan.

Sources believe that funding has been received from Sikh religious organizations, including some from abroad.

Bikramjit Tarun Rathi, a close aide of Amritpal Singh and the former treasurer of Waris Punjab De, who is currently evading arrest, is likely to possess more information about the funding, said the report.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) recently interrogated Amritpal Singh and his nine associates, who are currently detained in Assam's Dibrugarh jail, regarding the incidents in the UK.

The NIA is investigating the violence caused by Khalistan protesters outside the Indian High Commission in London on March 19.

The agency has released CCTV footage of the attack and is seeking help from the public in identifying the individuals involved in the attempted vandalism of the High Commission.

Before visiting London, the NIA team had already questioned Amritpal Singh and his associates.
