Kerala man drowns while rafting on Beas in Shimla

Shimla, Sept 16 (UNI) A tourist hailing from Kerala drowned in the Beas on Monday, while three others had a narrow escape as their raft capsized in the strong currents of the river, police informed.

According to police, the deceased, Ranjit, was along with 9 other people on the raft during the incident.

The rescued divers, who immediately rushed to save people, rescued three .

All the injured have been hospitalised at regional hospital, Kullu.

The family members of victims were informed about the mishap, the police said.

Interestingly, it was the very first day when Paragliding and River rafting allowed by the administration after keeping off for two and half month during rainy season.
