Police said the militants were killed in a ‘chance’ encounter in Thajiwara, Bijbehara area of Anantnag.

The deceased militants were identified by Police as Fayaz Kumar and Owais Khan.

Additional Director General of Police, Kashmir Vijay Kumar said the two were linked with terror outfit AGuH.

“They were involved in several terror attacks including attacks on police personnel in Cheeniwooder Srigufwara and Darashikoh park Bijbehara this year in which two police personnel got seriously injured. Besides, the two were involved in grenade lobbing at Padshahibagh on June 15, 2022,” he said.

The killing of AGuH militants took place a day after two local Hizbul Mujahideen who were allegedly involved in the killing of two territorial srmy soldiers were shot dead in the same district.
