Kashmir: Two drug peddlers arrested, heroin, cash recovered in Srinagar

Srinagar, May 10 (UNI) Two drug peddlers were arrested along with heroin and cash by a police naka party in summer capital, Srinagar on Friday, police spokesman said.
 

He said a naka checking was established at Ram Munshi Bagh today near a hotel. During checking, a vehicle was intercepted and two drug peddlers were arrested, they said police recovered heroin and cash Rs 12000 from their possession.


The drug peddlers were identified as Illyas Bashir Khanday, resident of Drangbal and Manzoor Ahmad Mir, resident of Kadalabal Pampore. The vehicle was seized and both the drug peddlers were arrested and lodged in police station Ram Munshi Bagh.


He said that in this regard, a case FIR No 23/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigation has been taken up.


He said community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.


Spokesman said our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
