Kashmir Politics: Sajjad Lone, Waheed Parra released from preventive detention

Srinagar/IBNS: After 180 days in preventive detention, two Jammu and Kashmir politicians were released on Wednesday.

The released people were identified as People’s Conference chairman Sajjad Lone and People’s Democratic Party leader Waheed Parra.

Several key Jammu and Kashmir leaders were kept in prevenmtive detention since the Centre bifurcated the firmer state into two Union Territories and its special rights enshrined in article 370 were scrapped.

The move releated to the scrapping of Article 370 was performed by the parliament on Dec 5, 2019.

According to media reports, over 13 politicioans are still under preventive detention.
