Kashmir: Five shops damaged in fire in Uri

Srinagar, May 23 (UNI) About five shops were damaged in a fire incident in the border town of Uri in north Kashmir district of Baramulla on Thursday morning.

According to official sources, fire broke out in a shop in village Machikrand in Baramulla in the wee hours on Thursday.

They also said fire tenders from different parts of the district were rushed to douse off the leaping flames, clearly visible from a distance.

However, before the fire was brought control, six shops were damaged.

They said no one was injured in the incident, adding that the cause of the fire is yet to ascertain.

“Police has registered a case and initiated investigation into the incident,” they added.
