Karnataka Lokyukta's son arrested in connection with scam

Bengaluru, Jul 27 (IBNS) In a major development, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Karnataka Police has arrested Y Ashwin Rao, son of Lokayukta Y Bhaskara Rao and the kingpin of Lokayukta extortion racket.
 Media reports said he has been  arrested in Auranbad district of Maharashtra.

 Ashwin Rao is the prime accused in extortion racket which allegedly collected over Rs.200 crores from more than 109 bureaucrats and others in the last two years.  
 
However, the police is yet to make the arrest public.

The police have already arrested Lokayukta PRO Syed Riaz after he returned from Saudi Arabia. He is accused of extorting money on behalf of the son of Lokayukta.

Three others including a journalist and an RTI activist have already been arrested in connection with the scam. 

Justice Bhaskara Rao was the chief justice of Karnataka High Court. He is also said to be on police radar.
