Bangalore, Mar 23 (IBNS) The Karnataka government on Monday ordered for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the death of IAS officer DK Ravi.

Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah made the announcement in the state Assembly.

Siddaramaiah had earlier said he would make his stand on the death of IAS officer D K Ravi clear on the floor of the legislative assembly on Monday.

" I will give all the details on the floor of the House when the assembly is convened on Monday. I will give all the details surrounding the death of the officer. We have no intention of protecting anyone or concealing any of the facts relating to this case, " he said.

The demand for a CBI probe has been widespread from among political parties, social organisations and individuals of all sections of society.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi had earlier advised Siddaramaiah to hand over the probe to the central agency.

D.K. Ravi was found dead in his residence in Bangalore city last Monday.

Ravi, who took on the sand mafia in the district, had allegedly received threat calls before his death.

He was the Additional Commissioner of Commercial Taxes (Enforcement).
