Adityanath, who was made UP CM pending his election to the state Assembly, has been a member of the Lok Sabha for the last 18 years representing Gorakhpur constituency.

He assumed office as the CM only on Tuesday.

Immediately after taking over charge, Adityanath held his first meeting with the state police chief, asking him to present a blueprint to tackle crimes witin 15 days.
