Joint Committee on Citizenship (Amendment) Bill to visit Assam on Nov 2-3

Guwahati, Oct 26 (IBNS) : The Joint Committee on Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 will be in Assam on a two day visit on Nov 2-3.

The visit is in response to Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal’s request to the Chairman of the Committee Satyapal Singh during his last visit to New Delhi.        

The Joint Committee will take haring on the views of various organisations and stakeholders  regarding the Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2016 on Nov 2 from 2 PM to 6 PM and Nov 3 from 9 AM to 12 noon at Assam Administrative Staff College, Khanapara.

Interested organizations, stakeholders may place their views before the committee on the respective time and dates.   

Three Nodal Officers of the Government have been designated for the coordination with the interested parties.
