Lucknow/UNI: Blaming the BJP government for violence in Jawaharlal Nehru University, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav said it was a 'pre-planned conspiracy', and the police role in the incident was suspicious.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Yadav said that BJP has conspired to attack the students of other ideology and was trying to force their communal agenda.

" Police too had nexus with the criminals who beat up the students in JNU ," he said.

"Country and the world saw how masked attackers entered JNU campus in Delhi and wreaked havoc in a planned manner. Fair investigation is needed because we should know who was main conspirator behind this," he said indicating about the BJP's role behind this incident.
He said that BJP was trying to close down JNU where the poor students are being  served with minimum fee and other facilities.

During the press meet, the SP president also showed to the media about the JNU violence and even about an incident in Varanasi where police supported the ABVP activists in a college to disturb the student election process.
Reiterating his party's stand on Citizenship Amendment Act/National Register of Citizens, Mr Yadav said ,"Everyone knows who will be benefited with such violence and now BJP is saying all things to cover up their illegal acts."

"The riots in UP on the name of CAA/NRC have been triggered just to save the chair of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and to divert the attention of the people from the real issues," he said.

The SP president also claimed that over 1,000 children have died between January and October, 2019 at Baba Raghav Das Medical College hospital in Gorakhpur but on the directive of the government , the officials are covering up the number of deaths.

"We demand that the government order a probe by a sitting high court judge on the death of the children besides investigating the matter with an expert team of doctors," he said.
