JKWP demands revocation of DoPT order abolishing Jammu and Kashmir cadre in All India Services

In a statement to CNS, party chairman Mir Junaid has registered his strong resentment against the cadre abolition in All India Services.

Mir said that anyone who aspires to appear in All India Services examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission is ipso facto, a nationalist.

Abolishing the J&K cadre has left such inspirational youngsters confused.

Mir Junaid has termed this step as a mockery with the educated youth of J&K. He said that the educated class has been the worst sufferer in the past.

He said that being an educated youngster himself, he feels and completely relates to the pain of these aspirational youngsters.

“The biggest asset of India is its educated, aspiring youngsters. The government needs to act compassionately while dealing with issues relating them. I’ve met different delegations in past few days who expressed their resentment against this decision of abolishing J&K cadre in All India Services and being an educated youngster I totally relate to their genuine demands”, he said.

Mir added that by abolishing J&K cadre, the government is making aspiring, educated youngsters pay the price of wrongs done by previous corrupt governments and anti-national elements.

“Educated youngsters are our answer to the radical elements and also our biggest assets. If educated youngsters are made to pay the price of someone else’s wrongdoings, what message would it send across them. It would definitely de-motivate the only potential force that we have against the radicals and anti-state elements. I’ve ensured the aspirants that the party will stand with them shoulder by shoulder on this issue and appeal the government for total revocation of the order”, he added.

Mir has further added that the bi-cadre system will create confusion in the administration of the state as half the officers placed in the state would belong to J&K cadre and half to AGMUT cadre.

“J&K is a complex state vis-a-vis administration. It takes an officer, a lot of time to understand the pulse of this place. According to the transfer policy of AGMUT cadre, the officer would not have enough time to understand the pulse of the place and administer the medicine required therein, therefore leading to inefficient governance. The government should understand that J&K needs officers who connect to it emotionally. It’s possible only when we have a separate J&K cadre in All India Services like we used to have. Our youngsters in J&K are as nationalist and efficient as others in the country and need to be dealt with compassion,” he added.

Mir requested the Home Minister and Prime minister, who holds Department of Personnel and Training to act compassionately regarding the issues of youth of Jammu and Kashmir and consider review of the earlier order. Mir also requested MoSDoPT, Dr. Jitender Singh to intervene into this matter as he himself belongs to J&K.

“I request Narendra Modi and Amit Shah to act compassionately regarding the issues of our youngsters. This is an emotional issue for our youngsters as well a governance issue. I hope that the central government considers it and orders for revocation of the earlier order.

Dr. Jitender Singh, who holds the charge of MoSDoPT is himself a J&K resident and will relate to the problem of our youngsters more emotionally. I request him to intervene personally in this matter”, he said.
