J&K gets new chief secretary

Srinagar, Sept 7 (IBNS) Jammu and Kashmir government appointed Brij Raj Sharma as the new chief secretary on Monday.

The move was made after Muhammad Iqbal Khandey decided to seek voluntary retirement (VRS) three months prior to his superannuation.

Sharma, who is 1984 batch IAS officer of J&K cadre, the cabinet, at a meeting chaired by chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed accorded
sanction to the appointed of the senior bureaucrat.

Senior officer said, Sharma’s name was unanimously accorded sanction by the cabinet for the post of chief secretary.
