Kudgam, Nov 3 (IBNS): At least two people were killed and two others were injured on Monday after an Army's ambush party allegedly opened fire at a private vehicle in Chattergam in the Budgam district of Kashmir, reports said.
"Police and Army sources say the firing occurred only after the vehicle did not stop at the checkpost," CNN-IBN reported.

The injured have been shifted to the Army Base Hospital in Srinagar.

The Army has ordered a court of inquiry. It also expressed regret over the loss of lives.

Based on intelligence reports about the movement of terrorists in a white Maruti 800 car likely on Monday along Nowgam to Pulwama road, the Army had established three Mobile Vehicle Check Posts (MVCP).

"Around 5 PM a white Maruti 800 car approached the first check point where the personnel tried to stop the car but it did not stop," CNN-IBN reported quoting sources.

When the vehicle did not stop at the second checkpoint, the security forces opened fire at it resulting in the tragedy.
