Jharkhand: Four policemen injured in stone pelting by people in Bokaro

Bokaro/UNI: Four members of a police team were injured in stone pelting while they had gone to recover a body from a pond at Gandhajor under Chas Police Station area of this district.

Locals said that deceased Subhash Rai was missing from his home since December 16 following which the family had informed the police however no effort was made to trace him due to which the family members were angry.

On Sunday morning the body was recovered from the pond. As soon as the police reached the spot the recover the body the people got agitated and started stone pelting on the policemen and also damaged the police patrolling vehicle.

Upon receiving information Bokaro SP P Murugan also reached on the spot and pacified the agitators. He said that it was a matter of investigation as to whether the man was murdered or he committed a suicide.

He assured that under supervision of magistrate the post-mortem will be conducted and it will be also video graphed. The SP also said that action will be taken on those who have attacked the police.
