JD-U warns Shahabuddin

Patna, Sept 11 (The Bihar Post/IBNS): The ruling JD-U today served a strong “warning” to RJD leader Mohammad Shahabuddin, terming his observations over chief minister Nitish Kumar, as a “matter of concern for Indian democracy”.

His statement is a matter of concern for democracy. We will make him feel the power of government. He won’t feel even pain by our government’s injection,” warned JD-U spokesperson Neeraj Kumar.

Condemning his statement that Kumar was a “CM by circumstances”, he said Shahabuddin’s track record was not that of a saint.

“It’s strange a man who came out of jail after 11 years is preaching about politics,” he quipped, advising the RJD people refrain from making statements which affects the alliance’s prospects.

Shahabuddin has kicked up political storms by stating that “Nitish Kumar is a chief minister by circumstances and he can’t win more than 20 seats if he contests the elections alone.”

He also rejected Kumar being a “mass leader”.

Bihar chief minister JD-U chief Nitish Kumar today rejected his statement, terming as “unimportant”.

“People of Bihar know whom they have given their mandate and it is not important for him to comment over who says what,” Kumar told the media in Patna, reacting to Shahabuddin’s remarks.

He said he was hardly bothered by such remarks and would continue doing his works as usual.

Senior RJD leader and deputy chief minister in the government Tejashwi Yadav quickly came in the damage-control mode saying their ruling Grand Alliance in Bihar is as strong as Himalaya.

“Our alliance is as strong as Himalaya and the government was doing better works in the interests of Bihar,” Tejashwi tweeted today.

Tejashwi is younger son of RJD chief Lalu Prasad.
