Jayalalithaa's health :AIADMK Lok Sabha members skip proceedings

New Delhi, Dec 5 (IBNS) : All 37 Lok Sabha members of the AIADMK on Monday skipped the proceedings of the House, the day their party supremo and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa underwent a heart surgery and was put on life support in a critical condition, NDTV reports said.

The benches of the AIADMK members were completely deserted, as they were apparently in Chennai after receiving the news about Jayalalithaa's health condition.

Jayalalithaa is stated to be "very critical" and has been on cardiac and respiratory support even after undergoing a heart surgery on Monday morning, reports said.

A statement issued by Apollo Hospitals around noon said, she “continues to be very critical and is on ECMO (Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation)
and other life support systems.”
