Jat reservation row: Centre forms committee

New Delhi, Feb 21 (IBNS) As Haryana continued to face demonstrations, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday said a committee has been to formed to look into the Jat reservation issue.

Singh said the committee will be headed by Union Minister  Venkaiah Naidu.

"A committee has been formed under the leadership of Vankaiah Naidu over the issue of reservation of the Jat community," Singh told reporters.

He urged people of Haryana to maintain peace in the state.

"I will urge people of Haryana to cooperate and maintain peace and order in the state," Singh said.

At least 12 cpeople have been killed and 150 others were injured in Haryana so far as protesters are demanding they be given government jobs under OBC quota.

Curfew has been placed amid violence in several parts of the state.
