Jat protests turn violent, mobile internet services suspended in Rohtak

Chandigarh, Feb 19 (IBNS) Mobile internet services have been suspended by the administration as protests in Haryana's Rohtak gains momentum, entering the sixth day on Friday, according to reports.

Demanding reservation for them, the Jat community's protest turned violent on Thursday evening, injuring at least 15 people.

Reports also stated that in order to break the mob, police had to fire in teargas shells and resort to lathicharge.

CM of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar has called for an all party meet today to review the demands of the agitating community.

The agitation started as the Jat leaders demanded that they be given government jobs under the OBC category.
