Tokyo, Apr 16 (IBNS) At least 19 people were confirmed dead as an earthquake of 7.3 magnitude hit southwestern Japan on Saturday, according to reports.

Japanese news agency Kyodo reported that the latest quake was more powerful than the last one, which had accounted for nine lives, a day ago.

Quoting several sources, the Japan Times said that the total death accumulated to 28.

Japan is already under serious threat as a heavy rainfall is predicted, which would heightened the chances of a land slide, thus bearing more loss.
