Janmasthami: 12 injured in 'Dahi Handi' celebrations in Mumbai

Mumbai: At least 12 Govinda Pathaks were injured across Mumbai while forming the pyramid during 'Dahi Handi' celebrations on Friday.

According to BMC, Out of the total injured five were discharged after given primary treatment while seven are hospitalized and their condition was said to be stable.

Dahi Handi, which is part of Krishna Janmashtami festival, is being celebrated on a grand scale across Maharashtra, especially in Mumbai and its neighbouring areas, after a pandemic-induced gap of two years.

Meanwhile, Mumbai police have made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the festival. 

There was arrangements of safety ropes, doctors were on standby and beds were also reserved in hospitals in case of any eventuality.
