Jan Suraaj chief Prashant Kishor enrolled as voter in both Bihar and Bengal! BJP jibes Mamata's ex-strategist

Kolkata/IBNS: Former political strategist and Jan Suraaj Party chief Prashant Kishor is enrolled as a voter in two states- Bihar and West Bengal, a report by The Indian Express said.

In West Bengal, Prashant is enrolled as a voter in address 121 Kalighat Road, which is also the office of the state's ruling party Trinamool Congress in Kolkata's Bhabanipur.

His polling station is listed as St. Helen School on B Ranishankari Lane.

Bhabanipur is the assembly constituency of Chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee.

In Bihar, the former political strategist, who worked with the TMC in the 2021 West Bengal Assembly Elections, is enrolled as a voter under the Sasaram Parliamentary Constituency in the Kargahar assembly constituency.

His polling station is listed as Madhya Vidyalay, Konar, which is Prashant's paternal village. Konar is located in the Rohtas district.

The matter came to light a day after the Election Commission of India (ECI) announced Special Intensive Revision (SIR) for 12 states including West Bengal, where the Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accused the TMC of enrolling fake voters to capitalise in the elections.

Taking a dig at Prashant whose Jan Suraaj is fighting in the Bihar Assembly Polls, BJP IT Cell head Amit Malviya wrote on X, "Jan Suraj founder Prashant Kishor is listed as a voter in both West Bengal and Bihar. Ordinarily, if his party had any real presence in Bihar, this would have been a major controversy.

"But it isn’t — because Jan Suraj doesn’t matter. What’s more telling is that all of Rahul Gandhi’s allies are complicit in “Vote Chori.” The hypocrisy is astounding."

Prashant's party is taking on the ruling NDA in Bihar, which goes to polls in November.

Prashant, who had worked with several tall politicians including Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the past, helped the TMC to defeat a then spirited BJP in the 2021 polls in West Bengal.
