Jammu: Soldier martyred along LoC in IED blast

Jammu/UNI: One Army jawan was martyred on Sunday along the Line of Control in suspected Improvised Explosive Device was triggered in Pallanwala area of Akhnoor Sector here.

Jammu based defence spokesman, Ministry of Defence, Lt Colonel Devendra Anand here said that in the incident, Havildar Santosh Kumar sustained grievous injuries and was evacuated to Army Command Hospital, Udhampur wherein he was provided medical aid and resuscitation.


However, Havildar Santosh Kumar succumbed to his injuries, he said.


Havildar Santosh Kumar,40, belonged to Village – Pura Bhadauria, Tehsil - Bah, District – Agra, Uttar Pradesh and is survived by his wife, Vimla Devi.


Havildar Santosh Kumar was a brave, highly motivated and sincere soldier. The Nation will always remain indebted to him for the supreme sacrifice and devotion to duty.
