Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir police on Thursday found the Army jawan who went missing from Kulgam district on Saturday evening.

Informing about the recovery of the missing army soldier, Kashmir Zone police said, "Army jawan has been recovered by Kulgam Police. Joint interrogation will start shortly after a medical checkup."

"Further details shall follow," the tweet added.

Rifleman Javed Ahmad Wani (25) of the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry regiment, who was visiting his home during his holidays, went missing in south Kashmir's Kulgam district when he went to a local market at around 6:30 pm on Saturday.

The Kashmir Zone Police had registered a case and arrested some suspects.

The soldier’s family members suspected that he has been abducted by terrorists and even released a video message begging for his safe return.

The tweet, however, did not reveal any details about Wani's missing case.
