Jammu and Kashmir: Srinagar Police starts women safety drive

 Srinagar: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, SSP Srinagar Dr M. Haseeb Mughal started a women safety drive.

He was accompanied by SP East Zone City Srinagar, SDPO Kothibagh, SHO Kothibagh and other officers of the District in reaching out to the public and pasting stickers in public transport to aware &educate the public about the women safety.

SSP Srinagar while addressing media on the sidelines of the event said,“We celebrate the women’s achievements and raise awareness among public about the honour and dignity of woman and her ease of living at work place, in transit to work place or home.”

“We must make it clear that any act of eve teasing or harassment shall be dealt strongly and any violation warrants a severe punishment under law. Our endeavour is to make Srinagar a safe city with regard to the women safety and their ease of living,” the SSP said.

‘We have inaugurated a 24×7 Women Help Desk and Counselling Hall at PS Women Rambagh, so that any aggrieved women can reach out to police for help in case of domestic violence or in need of any kind of police intervention,” the SSP added.
