Jammu and Kashmir situation is improving, says Prakash Javadekar

New Delhi, Sep 3 (UNI) The Government on Tuesday categorically said that there is improvement in situation in Jammu and Kashmir since Article 370 was abrogated nearly a month ago.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar said: "Everyday, Union Home Ministry and Jammu and Kashmir administration are giving latest details".

"Beyond a few police stations, there is no imposition of prohibitory orders under Section 144 of CrPC. And there is no bullet fired, no tear gas shells and no casualty....That's very important and that is the one month story. You are getting the update and will continue to get it,'' he said while replying to a question on the situation in Jammu and Kashmir during media briefing on Union Cabinet decisions.

On August 6, Parliament passed a statutory resolution removing Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir and the J&K Reorganisation Bill, 2019 which bifurcates the State.

Approval on Jammu and Kashmir (Reorganisation) Bill, 2019 makes J&K a Union territory with a Legislative Assembly, along with UT status to Ladakh without a Legislative Assembly.
