Jammu and Kashmir: Several feared dead as bus plunges into deep gorge in Doda

Several passengers were feared dead when a bus they were travelling in plunged into a deep gorge in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.

Police said that a bus ferrying passengers met with an accident and rolled down into the gorge near Assar.

Police and locals immediately rushed to the spot and started the rescue operation.

"Several deaths are reported in the accident while the details are being ascertained," they said.

Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh confirmed about the accident and said that details about the casualties are being ascertained.
