Jammu and Kashmir: Four drug peddlers nabbed with heroin, poppy straw in Udhampur, Ramban
Jammu, May 12 (UNI) Police on Sunday nabbed four drug peddlers with contraband of poppy straw and heroin in Udhampur and Ramban districts.
In first operation, police recovered seven grams of contraband of heroin and a poppy straw in Udhampur district.
SSP Udhampur, Rajiv Pandey said that based on some reliable information regarding smuggling of contraband substance heroin, Police party from Udhampur laid a naka at Jakhani and caught two suspected person, who tried hiding themselves.
During their personal search, seven grams of heroine was recovered from their possession.
They were identified as Ujwal Sharma of Housing Colony and Vikram Kumar of Shiv Nagar, Udhampur.
Meanwhile, in separate incident police arrested one Kameshwar Singh, resident of Dandyal, Udhampur with contraband of five-kg poppy straw.
However in Banihal tehsil of Ramban, 100 grams was seized from the possession of Toni Kumar, resident of Sakinderpur, Bishnah, Jammu during a checking at T Chowk.
Pertinent to mention here that in last one month Banihal Police has arrested six drug peddlers and huge quantity of Charas, Poppy Straw and 30 kg of heroin has been recovered.
