Jammu and Kashmir: Civilian injured in grenade attack in Srinagar

Srinagar: A civilian was injured in a grenade blast in Srinagar on Sunday evening, police said.

The grenade attack took place in Srinagar's Eidgah area.

“One grenade was lobbed by terrorists in Eidgah area which caused minor splinter injury to one person namely Ajaz Ahmed Deva S/o Abdul Rasheed Deva aged 32 years R/o Sangam, Srinagar. Person has been taken to hospital & is out of danger," a police tweet said.

It added that an operation has been launched to catch the culprit(s).

The attack took place days ahead of Republic Day. Security forces are maintaining a high vigil to ensure incident free Republic Day functions.
