Srinagar: District administration Bandipora on Friday airlifted 95 candidates from snowbound Gurez Valley to Bandipora in Air Forces’ M-17 helicopter for SSRB Class IV exams scheduled from February 27.

According to officials, a total of 250 candidates from various areas of Gurez Valley have registered for the exam. Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Owais Ahmed said that the Divisional Commissioner’s Office was requested for special sorties with a large capacity and maximum flying time for airlifting the candidates from Gurez Valley.

He said that half of the candidates were flown to Bandipora on Saturday while more will be airlifted on Sunday.

"Our office is available for any help to the candidates," the DC said.
