Jaitley should worry about Modi, not Singh: Khurshid

New Delhi, May 13 (IBNS) External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid on Tuesday slammed senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Arun Jaitley over his praises for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and said he should bother more about the party's PM candidate Narendra Modi.

"How come Jaitley is realising things about Manmohan Singh now? He should worry about his PM candidate," Khurshid told CNN-IBN.

As Singh attended his last day at work, Jaitley on Tuesday praised him and said he came out as a "man of scholarship".

In a blog post titled "Looking back at Dr.Manmohan Singh" on his official website, Jaitley said: "... whenever you discussed a serious subject with the Prime Minister he came out as a man of scholarship. He was what we call to as 'a Syana aadmi'."

"His words were measured and he would reflect before making a comment," he said.

Jaitley said Singh's personal integrity was always above board.

"With an element of scholarship he was always be well read and well prepared on any subject that he dealt with," he said.

Saying that the PM "never came out as a leader", Jaitley said: "The reason for not coming out as a leader was clear. He never wanted to rock the boat. He knew that he was vested with limited power and on all major decisions he had to keep the party and its first family in good humor."
