Jagannath Sena urges Mamata Banerjee to preserve Dacota C-3 plane used by legendary leader Biju Patnaik

Puri,Sep 29 (UNI) Jagannath Sena Convenor Priyadarshan Pattnaik has urged West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to preserve Dacota C-3 plane used by veteran pilot Biju Patnaik on his historic mission in 1947.

Biju Patnaik had successfully rescued Md. Hatta and Prime minister, the two important Indonesian leaders in the Dacota C-3 during 1947 war.

The Jagannath Sena Convenor who met Mamata Banarjee last week requested her to preserve the plane which is gathering dust in Dum Dum airport at Kolkata.

He requested the West Bengal chief minister preserve this piece of history which belongs to legendary leader Biju Pattnaik.

The Plane should be handed over to Odisha government to be kept at Biju Pattnaik international airport for public view, Patnaik said in a memorandum submitted to West Bengal chief minister.
