IT officials raid house, business establishments of 3 businessmen in Guwahati

Guwahati, Oct 24 (IBNS) : The sleuths of Income TAX (IT) department on Tuesday raided properties of three businessmen in Assam's capital city Guwahati.

According to the reports, the IT sleuths conducted raids for several hours in premises and business establishments of Guwahati based businessman Kailash Lohia, Bajrang Lohia and Ram Avatar Bhurakia at Kumarpara, Fatasil Ambari, GS Road area in the city.

The IT team raided at the office of Topcem cement, Subham owned by Lohia group at Christianbasti area.

During the raids, IT team had seized a large quantity of computer hard disks, files, documents from the business establishments.

An IT official said that they were charged of tax evasion.

"The team had seized a large number of tax related files and documents from the houses and business offices," the IT official said.
