IRCTC scam: Rabri Devi, Tejashwi get bail; next hearing on Nov 19

New Delhi, Oct 6 (IBNS): Delhi's Patiala High Court on Saturday granted an interim bail to former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi and her son Tejashwi in connection with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Cooperation (IRCTC) scam, media reports said.

The other accused persons have also been granted an interim bail with a surety of Rs 1 lakh each and a personal bond.

The next hearing will take place on Nov 19.

The case pertains to alleged irregularities in granting operational contract of two IRCTC hotels to a private company.

Former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad, who is also an accused in the case, could not appear before the court.

Lalu is serving several years of jail term in connection with fodder scam cases.

Lalu is lodged in a jail in Ranchi.

The bail came as a relief for the RJD as Tejashwi is presently leading the party in absence of of his father.
