New Delhi, Jul 2 (IBNS) : External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Monday has said that the country's profile in the international arena has "gone up significantly" since Narendra Modi took over as Prime Minister.

"India's global profile and prestige have gone up significantly since PM Narendra Modi has assumed office," she said at the ninth Heads of Mission Conference, which concluded on Monday.

The Ministry of External Affairs said in a tweet that the participants in the conference-all Indian Ambassadors and High Commissioners posted in different parts of the world- had a session with the PM on the last day.

The three-day conference has the objective of promoting India's national interests abroad.

"The time of the year when all our Ambassadors & High Commissioners come to Delhi for a brainstorming session on promoting India's national interests abroad," MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar had earlier tweeted.

Sushma Swaraj had inaugurated the conference on theme 'Unprecedented Outreach: Unparalleled Outcomes," he tweeted.
