India's first integrated heliport inaugurated in Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 28 (IBNS): P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Union Minister of Civil Aviation, inaugurated India's first integrated heliport located in Rohini, New Delhi, on Tuesday.

The heliport has been built by Pawan Hans Limited, a Public Sector Undertaking of the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

The Union Minister tweeted, "25 acres,Rs 100 cr,operation of 10 & parking of 16 choppers, MRO, medical emergencies, disaster Mgmt, joyrides - that's Rohini heliport for us."

The heliport has a terminal building with capacity to handle 150 passengers, four hangars with parking capacity of 16 helicopters and nine parking bays, according to media reports.

It also has maintenance, repair and overhaul facilities.

Five young members of CRY were the first flyers to experience the Rohini heliport services when they were taken on a Delhi City joyride.
