Indian woman abducted in Afghanistan, Sushma Swaraj assures help

New Delhi/Kolkata/Kabul, June 10 (IBNS) External Affairs Sushma Swaraj on Friday assured to help and rescue an Indian woman working with an INGO, who has been kidnapped in Afghanistan's Kabul city on Thursday night.

Judith D'Souza, 40, who hails from Kolkata, is employed with the Aga Khan Development Network, an international NGO.

Her family member Jerome Dsouza urged Swaraj to help rescue Judith by tweeting: "My sister Judith D"Souza has been abducted in Kabul. Request your immediate to release her. I have also appealed to @SushmaSwaraj as well."

Swaraj tweeted: "I have spoken to the sister of Judith D' Souza. We will spare no efforts to rescue her. @VohraManpreet."

"She is your sister and India's daughter. We are doing everything to rescue her. Pl take care of your sick father," the Minister wrote in another tweet.

Judith D'Souza's mother told media her daughter loved her work.

"She used to love her work," Judith D'Souza's mother told media.

As per Judith D'Souza's LinkedIn  page , she was working as Senior Technical Adviser - Gender at The Aga Khan Foundation in Afghanistan.

After passing from Loreto Day School in Kolkata, she completed her graduation from St Xaviers College in the city.

Judith D'Souza studied her Post Graduation on Social Work from University of Mumbai, College of Social Work.
