Indian man arrested in Nepal with marijuana

Kathmandu, Oct 17 (IBNS): An Indian national was arrested by security forces in Nepal after marijuana was found in his possession, media reports said on Wednesday.

The man was reportedly arrested from the border area near Birgunj, reports said.

The man has been identified as Sonu Kumar Mahato.

He is from Bihar.

According to Superintendent of Police at Parsa District Police Office, Rewati Dhakal, the 6.5 kilogram marijuana brought from Makawanpur district of Nepal was seized near the border while it was being transported to India, The Himalayan Times reported.

An investigation into the matter has started.
