New Delhi/IBNS: The Indian Army on Sunday launched attack on terror pads located inside Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in which four to five Pakistan Army soldiers were killed and several were injured, media reports said quoting sources.

According to NDTV sources, four terror launch pads in Neelam valley - opposite the Tangdhar sector of Kupwara - have been destroyed in the artillery strikes.

"Sources indicated that this was retaliation to the cross-border firing by Pakistan in Tangdhar, in which two Indian soldiers and a civilian died. Three others were also injured in the attack, which took place after midnight," NDTV reported.

This comes in retaliation to unprovoked firing by Pakistani troopers along the LoC.

Earlier in the day, two Indian soldiers, a civilian were killed and two, including a woman, were injured when Pakistan troops violated the ceasefire and resorted to unprovoked shelling and firing in north Kashmir districts of Kupwara and Baramulla, official sources said on Sunday.

They said Pakistan Army fired mortar shells and resorted to indiscriminate firing with automatic weapons from across the border in Teetwal sector in Kupwara targetting forward post and civilian areas at the Line of Control(LOC) late last night.

Indian troops retaliated and the exchange of fire continued till 0300 hrs.

According to them, two soldiers were martyred and three civilians were injured in the firing.

The injured were rushed to a hospital where one of them identified as Rafiq Ahmed, succumbed to his injuries.
