India will become most open economy in the world, Modi says as he woos Japanese investment

Addressing the  members of the India-Japan Business Leaders’ Forum at at CII-Keidanren luncheon, Modi also invited greater Japanese investments and promised to address their "concerns" to make their participation smooth.

"India is pursuing a new direction of economic reforms. My resolve is to make it the most open economy in the world," he said.

"21st Century is Asia’s century that has emerged as new centre f global growth.We will've to cont. to play major role in Asia’s emergence."

Modi made it clear that India views Japan as a great partner in pursuing its goal as a "strong India-strong Japan will not only enrich our two nations," but will also be a stabilising factor in Asia and the world.

"The growing convergence of views between Japan and India under our Special Strategic and Global Partnership has the capacity to drive the regional economy and development, and stimulate the global growth.," he said.

The PM said India's development needs are huge and substantial and it seeks rapid achievement of the developmental priorities in an  an enviro friendly manner

To make it smooth for Japan to participate in India's development, Modi promised to further strengthen the special mechanisms including Japanese Industrial Townships.

"I encourage you to make use of the ten-year business visa, the e-Tourist Visa, and the Visa-On-Arrival facility that we now offer to Japanese travellers. "

"The Social Security Agreement with Japan has also been implemented, which is good news for the growing number of professionals on both sides. "

Stating that  Made in India and  Made by Japan' has already started to converge wonderfully, he said, "I promise that we're committed to boost @makeinindia."

Dwelling on the Indian economy that he said is of "incredible opportunities," Modi told the Japanese business captains that even against weak international scenario, "news from India is of strong grwoth."

He said in India Japan is the "benchmark of quality, excellence,honesty and integrity."

"We're familiar with Japan's contribution to development in other parts of world."

"Japan has important  role as India needs scale,speed and skill.Involvement in our mega projects  signifies scale and speed.Skill initiatives also underway."

"India and Japan are best suited to work together," Modi said.
