India reports 35,178 new COVID-19 cases in 24 hours

New Delhi/IBNS: In a spike in daily coronavirus cases, India Wednesday reported over 35,000 new infections while the toll went up by 440.

In 24 hours between Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, the country has reported 35,178 new infections, around 10,000 more than a day ago.

In the same span of time, 37,169 COVID-19 patients have recovered taking the recovery rate to 97.52%, which is the highest since March 2020.

The active caseload in the country is now 3,67,415, the lowest in 148 days.

The active cases now constitute 1.14% of the total number of cases, the lowest since March 2020.

As per the data provided by the Union Health Ministry, 56.06 crore anti-COVID-19 vaccine doses have so far been administered to people above 18 years of age in the country.
