New Delhi, July 18 (IBNS): India has strongly condemned the attack in Iraq's Erbil on Wednesday that killed at least one Turkish diplomat.

India's ministry of external affairs spokesperson  Raveesh Kumar said, "India condemns the terrorist attack in Erbil yesterday. We extend our condolences to the families of the deceased including a diplomat from Turkey."

"India has always opposed and rejected terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, and has urged concerted action by the international community against terrorism, including cross-border terrorism,“ he added.

The US has too condemned the attack.

In a statement, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said: "We condemn in the strongest possible terms today’s attack in Erbil, where at least one Turkish diplomat was murdered. There can be no justification for such acts of wanton violence."

"We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims and hope for a speedy recovery of any wounded. The US reaffirms its commitment to support the government and people of Turkey and Iraq," he added.
