India appoints new envoy to Israel

The Indian government on Friday announced the appointment of Jitender Pal Singh as the new envoy of the country to Israel.

He is currently serving as the Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs.

He will replace Sanjeev Singla.

He served the post from 2019 to 2024.

"Shri. Jitender Pal Singh (IFS: 2002), presently Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the State of Israel," read a statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs.

He is expected to take up the assignment shortly.
