INDIA alliance's third meeting to begin in Mumbai today

Mumbai/IBNS: The third meeting of over 20 anti-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) parties, who have formed a bloc named 'INDIA', to further strategise for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections will begin in Mumbai on Thursday.

The first of the two-day meeting, as reports claim, will be more informal with opposition leaders meeting and greeting.

The second day of the meeting, which will be held on Friday, is likely to focus on the seat-sharing formula and iron-out the regional differences between the parties.

In July, the opposition parties, barring a few, joined hands to form an alliance, naming it as 'INDIA or Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance, to take on the mighty Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his BJP in 2024 polls.

The naming of the alliance, which comprises disparate political forces and in some cases fierce rivals, was done in the second meeting held in Bengaluru.

The talks of the alliance stemmed from Patna with more of an effort of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Meanwhile, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who is perceived as one of the top contenders to be INDIA's Prime Ministerial candidate, reached Mumbai on Wednesday.

She reached acting legend Amitabh Bachchan's residence to tie him a rakhi and then headed to former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's house.

Amid rumours over Nitish Kumar's stance over INDIA, the Bihar Chief Minister said on Sunday that he does not wish anything personally from the opposition's alliance, adding that he only wants to unite everyone.

Replying to the queries of media persons regarding opposition raising fingers at the proposed meeting of the INDIA alliance to be held in Mumbai, he said that he never wished anything for himself and that his only mission was to unite everyone.
