Independence Day is a sacred occasion for every Indians: Kovind

New Delhi, Aug 14 (IBNS): Indian President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday said that Independence Day is a day of significance for all the people of the country.

Addressing the nation ahead of the Independence Day, Kovind said: "15th August is a sacred day for all people of this country."

He also praised the role of the Army and the police in maintaining the peace of the nation.

"They are fighting against the terrorists and maintaining law and order in the country," Kovind said.

He said maintaining the freedom and independence of women in the country is needed.

Kovind said Indian youth are the future of the country.

"They are the hope of the nation," he said.
