ICG ship apprehends Pakistani fishing boat

New Delhi/UNI: Indian Coast Guard Ship Ankit apprehended a Pakistani Fishing Boat 'Yaseen' along with 10 Pakistani crew, operating in Indian waters during the intervening night of January 8 and 9 , 2022.

The ICG ship was on an operational patrol at Arabian Sea.

The individuals on Pakistani fishing boat could not justify their presence in Indian waters and subsequently apprehended by ICG.

The Pakistani fishing boat attempted to flee towards Pakistani waters on seeing the ICG ship but it was made to stop and apprehended.

During the initial boarding, the Pakistani boat Yaseen was found in possession of nearly 2000 kgs of fish catch along with 600 litres of diesel.

The boat and 10 crew were being towed to Porbandar for further investigation and joint interrogation by agencies.
