Varanasi, Mar 5 (IBNS): With Uttar Pradesh voting to elect a new Assembly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said he has big dreams for his Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi.

"I have big dreams for Varanasi," Modi said addressing a gathering here.

"Our aim is of a Banaras that is modern yet retains its heritage," he said.

Attacking the rival parties, the PM said: "Our mantra is 'Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas' but SP, BSP & Congress believes in 'Kuch Ka Sath, Kuch Ka Hi Vikas'."

He highlighted that corruption should come to an end in India.

"Shouldn't corruption come to an end? Its been so many years since we attained freedom but a small section misused their power & position," the PM said.

"Earlier the question being asked would be- what money was lost (in the scams), now the question is- Modi Ji what has come back," he said.

Speaking on the issue of surgical strike, Modi said: "It is sad that driven by politics, some people wanted proof of surgical strikes & were asking did any Indian soldier die."

Modi said every Indian should have his or her own home by 2022
