Hyderabad Congress holds Sankalp Satyagraha in support of Rahul Gandhi

Hyderabad/UNI: Hundreds of Congress activists in Hyderabad, led by state party chief President Sameer Waliullah, gathered in solidarity as part of the nationwide Sankalp Satyagraha protests to support Rahul Gandhi.

The protest, organized by former Corporator and TPCC General Secretary Cherukuri Srinivas, was held at the Moosarambagh crossroads, near SBI Bank in the Malakpet constituency on Monday.

The Congress leaders began their protest by washing the statue of Dr BR Ambedkar with milk and garlanding it.

They condemned Rahul Gandhi's disqualification as MP and called it an attack on democracy.

During the protest, Sameer Waliullah said that Gandhi's disqualification from the Lok Sabha was unfair and accused the BJP government of using defamation to target opposition leaders and suppress dissent.

Waliullah clarified that Gandhi did not claim that all "Modis are thieves," but only questioned why some thieves, like Nirav and Lalit, have the Modi surname.

Waliullah linked the case's revival to Gandhi's questioning of the Adani group in Parliament, stating that it aims to undermine democracy and silence dissent.

He praised the former Congress President as an inspiration who consistently works to unite India.

He cited the recent Bharat Jodo Yatra, a campaign for national integration, as an example of Gandhi's commitment to bringing Indians together.

The Hyderabad DCC President said that calling a thief a thief is not defamation and challenged the BJP leaders to prove Gandhi's statement wrong when he told Nirav Modi and Lalit Modi plundered the country and Adani was still looting the country's resources with the blessings of PM Modi.
