Humiliated by police Kerala woman withdraws gang-rape complaint
The woman, with her husband by her side and their faces covered, went public with her predicament in the hands of the police when she went to complain about being raped by four of her husband's friends.
According to NDTV, the woman first shared her story with prominent dubbing artiste and activist Bhagya Lakshmi, whose Facebook post has been widely circulated and has drawn a response from Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. She called the artiste after watching her in a TV discussion recently.
The woman said that she told about the incident to her husband in August this year and he urged her to file a complaint with the police.
"I was called to the police station for four days continuously and made to sit there from morning to evening. I was asked humiliating questions," the woman said to reporters.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and the state police chief are likely to meet the woman on Thursday, media reported.
